How long does it take to learn to cook?
I think learning the basics such as how and when to fry, roast, grill, braise, poach, broil, boil, etc. can be learned fairly quickly. I think that with enough practice you can get the basics down in 6 months to a year. Learning how to master cooking can take a lifetime.
